Generally speaking, fatty liver is a condition characterized by too high a percentage of fat in the liver. Normal fat accumulation in your liver should only be around 5-10%, if the fatty ratio in your liver is more than 10%, then you have the fatty liver problems.

If the fatty deposits of the liver are not caused by alcohol, it is called Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease or NAFLD. Such patients are usually overweight , have a poor diet, high cholesterol, or have diabetes. Rapid weight loss can also cause NAFLD.
