How to do interval training on treadmill

  • Step 1:Set 30 to 45 minutes count down timer on yourtreadmill so you can track your timing during your interval training on the treadmill.
  • Step 2: If you have not done any warm up exercise such as jumping jacks. Do warm up exercise first for 3 to 5 minutes. Warm up is important which help you to loosen muscles and avoid injury.

  • Step 4: Then speed up your treadmill again to a faster pace, walk at that speed for 8 – 10 minutes. In this process, probably you feel a little tired and cannot chat with others like step 2 and 3. However, it is not the fastest speed, you should come to the next stage later.
  • Step 5: Slow down for 5 minutes to have a small rest, and then speed up to the fastest speed for 3 minutes. And then slow down again. Repeat the “3 minute fast – 2 minutes moderate pace”for 3 to 5 times.
  • Step 6: At last gradually slow down and get your heart rate back to normal.
