Creatine and alcohol, can we take the two together?

Can I Drink Alcohol While Taking Creatine?Alcohol and creatine is not related at all. But someone will have the two together. For example, one of my friend like to drink, but he determine to go to gym last week, and the coach ask him to take creatine. Then the problem comes.

In my point of view, do not drink a drop of alcohol if you are going to keep fit. It is not because of creatine, but as alcohol is one of the greatest enemies to fitness.

According to the research, there are mainly two effects if you drink alcohol while taking creatine, which also support the above opinion.

alcohol and creatineOne one hand, alcohol is a special substance which can be absorbed so quickly into the body and reaches the brain. After it does so it triggers the reduction of anti-diuretic hormone (ADH) production. Because the name implies ADH is definitely an anti-diuretic, which regulates how much you urinate. When the volume of this hormone decreases your body will inform your kidneys to generate more urine than it commonly does. That is why dehydration is among the most significant effects of a hangover.

On the other hand, alcohol limits protein synthesis, which is also bad for you to keep fit. While we ingest proteins these are broken down into amino acids, and along with other amino acids created by the body are used together to synthesize proteins that our cells need at that time. Alcohol disrupts this process and slows down any muscle repairing that needs to be done.

So I told my friend that if you want to keep fit, just follow fitness trainer’s advice, and stop drink alcohol while taking creatine.
